What does it mean to be creative? Who can be creative? Is creativity inherently male or female? Are different kinds of creativity masculine or feminine? What role did Mary Shelley play in breaking down these types of barriers in the early 19th Century? Students watched a short 1966 film, Hand Movie, to launch a discussion on how the body is depicted in literature and other art forms, and how creations that came from the hands, as in writing and art, are inherently different from creations that came from the body, as in childbirth, and how those divisions came into play in Frankenstein.
In Bioethics, student groups met to continue work on their projects. See more photos in the Frankenstein Project Blog!
